11 Women Awarded FWSF Scholarships in 2023

Aditi is an MSBA graduate student at Santa Clara University, where she also earned her undergraduate degree with Honors in Finance & Management Information Systems. She is the President of Santa Clara Consulting (student-led SCU consulting group), a Senior-Analyst in the SC Investment Fund (managing a portion of SCU endowment), and a Program Assistant at the Leavey School of Business. Aditi is the co-founder of WillBeThere Foundation 501(c)3, dedicated to mental health awareness and building leadership in the community. Last summer, she was a Technology Risk & Financial Advisory intern at Deloitte and will return to Deloitte Consulting. Aditi is passionate about the intersectionality of community service and finance and aims to utilize her business knowledge to create opportunities that make a positive social impact.

Katherine is a first-year MBA student at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, where she is a Botha Chan Innovation Fellow, a BOLD Fellow, and Co-President of the “First-Generation, Low-Income” Club. Before studying at Stanford, she worked for AB InBev, leading roles across Sales, Digital Marketing, Communications, and eCommerce. During this time, she founded a women’s ERG dedicated to developing future female leaders within the business. A passionate community-builder, Katherine enjoys spending extracurricular time serving on two Boards for the University of Virginia, her undergraduate alma mater where she earned degrees in Finance and Marketing, and as an MBA Ambassador for Stanford. After finishing her degree, Katherine plans to leverage her previous experience building consumer-centric products to pursue a career developing new ventures that improve lives.

Marwa is pursuing a Master's degree in Business Analytics from the Dominican University of California while serving as a Data Governance Steward at Walmart Connect, an ad technology company. She previously earned her Bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley, where she studied Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Global Health and a minor in Public Policy. With a passion for financial technology, Marwa aspires to become a Data Analyst or Scientist in the FinTech industry and to use her skills to improve financial outcomes for individuals.

Akansha Singh is a graduate student at The Wharton School pursuing an Executive MBA with a major in Finance. During her studies, she is working full-time at Stripe leading their Financial Risk Data Science team. She previously worked at OnDeck Capital, a fintech lender for small businesses, in their Risk Management division.

Akansha is passionate about the financial technology sector and the role it is playing in increasing global economic access. She holds a B.S in Applied Mathematics and Chemical Engineering, along with a major in Economics, from Northwestern University. She received her M.S in Chemical Engineering (focus on Systems Engineering) from Columbia University. She aspires to continue strengthening her knowledge and breadth of experiences within the financial technology sector.

Lisa Tran is a first-generation, upcoming graduate student at San Jose State University pursuing a Masters of Science in Taxation degree. Prior to attending the Lucas Graduate School of Business, she was a three-time President's scholar, and graduated summa cum laude at San Jose University with a B.S. in accounting.

On campus, Lisa served as President for her Beta Alpha Psi chapter and CFO for an International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition, winning first place for undergraduate presentations. She received a full-time International Tax offer from Deloitte to begin post-graduation and hopes to become a future industry leader. She aims to utilize her future industry knowledge through advising various taxation committees and becoming a mentor for women in business.

Antonia graduated from The Ohio State University with the pleasure of playing NCAA Division 1 soccer. After living in Asia for two years, she is now pursuing dual Masters degrees in Asia Pacific Studies and Business Administration. As a Senior Consultant in USF's Malloy Consulting Group, she has led multiple projects involving supply chain logistics, revenue management, energy trading platforms, and go-to-market strategies. In addition, Antonia is an Asia Bridge Graduate Research Fellow where she plans community events centered around cultures in the Asia Pacific and conducts research on Chinese economics. Antonia is extremely passionate about U.S.-China relations and investing in Asia. She aims to become an investment strategist/ business consultant for investments and expansion in Asia.

Snehal Chopra is an undergraduate student at Saint Mary's College of California pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration.

On campus, Snehal is the President of Gael Women in Business promoting personal and professional growth through hosting many professional workshops and networking opportunities. With a passion for her South Asian heritage, she has served as the secretary and now treasurer of the Southern Asian Society as well. She seeks to learn and educate students about the varying religious and cultural traditions of South Asia while managing the funds to execute events to do so.

As of now, Snehal has secured an internship at a regional accounting firm and plans to acquire her MS in Accounting and CPA license after graduating from Saint Mary’s.

Jasmin is an undergraduate student at California State University East Bay. She is majoring in accounting with the desire to later study tax specifically. Jasmin is also a student athlete on the golf team at CSUEB. On campus, she is a member of the SCAA (Student Center for Academic Achievement) and tutors students in accounting. She was also awarded the All Scholar Team Award presented by the Women's Golf Coach Association as well as the California State East Bay Dean's List Award for her achievements in the classroom. For now, she is excited to have accepted a tax internship at Ernst & Young. Jasmin hopes to encourage and inspire fellow women to pursue careers in accounting, because with hard work, success can be achieved.

Hiya Shah is an undergraduate at Stanford University studying Economics and Data-Science. Her experiences include being a Technology M&A Investment-Banking Intern at Bank-of-America, Intern at PeakSpan Capital (B2B Software growth-equity), Intern MGG Investment Group (~$4B AUM) in NYC, intern at Alpine Investors' portfolio company called Antelope, and Founder of an international non-profit called Fundraising For The Girl Child (Diana Legacy Award).

She is the CFO of Stanford Women In Finance, Student Partner at the Kudla Fund (L/S hedge fund), Portfolio Manager at the Blyth Fund, Resident Assistant in a freshman dorm, Education Co-lead at Asha, and more. As someone who has grown up in expatriate communities across Saudi Arabia, Hiya is grateful for exposure to a multitude of cultures and perspectives other than her own.

Radha Singh is an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley. Radha is studying Business and Data Science with a minor in Public Policy and Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Technology.

Radha is a Berkeley Leadership Scholar who, by engaging in several startup experiences, found her passion for finance. She is highly involved in her community, having been on the teaching staff with the school’s entrepreneurship center for over a year, involved with her school’s largest/oldest investment club, and on leadership for Berkeley Women in Business. Outside of her campus community, she is heavily involved in the Bridging the Gap and Headstart Fellowships, two competitive programs that empower like-minded, overlooked finance students. This summer, she’ll be interning as a summer analyst with PIMCO, and hopes to pursue a career in investing.

Aliyah is a first-generation college student at Saint Mary's College of California pursing a degree in Business administration with a concentration in finance and a minor in data science. On campus, she guides fellow students as a peer mentor and works as a student assistant for Saint Mary's Advancement Services. Aliyah is also the Vice President of Gael Women in Business, a student run organization committed to promoting and developing both personal and professional growth within the undergraduate women on campus. For now, she is delighted to have accepted an internship with KPMG this summer. Aliyah hopes in the future to serve as a role model to others, and to become able to provide resources and opportunities to underprivileged first-generation women pursuing careers in finance.
