Bank of the West
SVP, Head of Mass Affluent Strategy
When you were 10 years old, what were your career aspirations?
I was highly influenced by what I saw on TV so I wanted be a lawyer or a detective – but when I think about what games I liked playing I always gravitated to playing “bank” or “restaurant” – I loved anything that had to do with a cash register!
What's your favorite part of your job?
I love leading brainstorming meetings to try and solve problems. Using the collective brainpower of people to sketch out ideas and develop action items is very fulfilling for me.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Over and over in the course of my life people have said “you can’t do this” or “it will never happen” or “that door is closed” and I have never taken no for answer – if it was really important to me or my family, I figured out a way to make it happen or happily choose to get on another path.
What talent would you most like to have?
I have always wished I could sing better – while I have volume I do not have pitch or tone.
What trip or hobby delighted you in the past year? We recently went to Rome and I loved just walking around. I was really proud of my son (10) and my niece (13) and nephew (16) for walking around for 8 – 10 hours a day looking at churches, museums, fountains, ruins, etc. They were total troopers but next time I’ll go back with just my husband.
