Nordstrom stylists shared those and other fashion tips at the Fall Must Haves and Top Trends for Work and After event at the Pleasanton store on July 24, 2014. FWSF’s East Bay Committee hosted 20 members and nonmembers.
The evening began with networking, refreshments and goodie bags in a private room. Next, clothing and makeup stylists delighted the group with fall fashions as trendy music played in the background. Nordstrom’s stylist services are complimentary and personalized.
“We’ll see what’s the best look for your body type,” Isabella, a clothing stylist told the group. “You get to know your stylist and she gets to know you. It’s kind of like having a personal shopper 24/7 all year round.”
Among the fall must haves: calf length “midiskirts,” both A-line and fitted; statement handbags in bold or mute colors; figure flattering boyfriend jeans; sassy, sleek, stiletto booties for work to evening; leather skirts, blazers and accents; texture, texture everywhere – beaded sweaters, jacquard blazers, jewel-studded denim shirts; matchy-matchy sets for easy dressing; a leopard print, sleeveless sheath “color blocked” with a leather band from shoulder to hemline wowed the crowd. Comfortable, easy, washable.
Amanda, a makeup stylist, demonstrated day to evening looks with the help of an audience volunteer. Trending: BB (beauty balm) and CC (color correct) creams that add moisture, color and protection. Fear taking the plunge into color? Amanda can help you transition and compliment your wardrobe.
“I challenge you to come see me,” she said, getting a chuckle from the audience.
Presentations over, it was time to shop with the help of stylists and Nordstrom’s rewards program.
