FWSF has traditionally focused on gender diversity in the financial services, but at its March meeting, the Board adopted a broader initiative that expands the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I). A newly-formed D&I committee convened in June. Its first project is to assess who our members are currently, and to that end, it is developing a brief membership questionnaire. The D&I committee, a subcommittee of Membership, is looking for additional members who want to get in on the ground floor.
In August, FWSF and KPMG will co-host an invitation-only event, “Fostering Innovation thru Diversity,” which will feature a moderated panel of high-profile speakers. In addition, FWSF's Silicon Valley chapter will team up with Franklin Templeton Investments to host a Fireside Chat to discuss why gender diversity is important in financial services.
